Our twelve-day trip was as follows: Day One - Arrival in Fairbanks, Alaska We were met by a Royal Caribbean representative and escorted to our hotel for an overnight stay. Our hotel was formerly housing for Alaska pipeline workers. We were surprised at the abundance (and size) of the flowers. Stands to reason since Fairbanks gets 20 hours of sunlight in the summer.

Day Two - Fairbanks – In the morning, we will take a Fairbanks Tour which included a cruise on the Riverboat Discover Sternwheeler and then a tour of the El Dorado Gold Mine where we pan for gold and there was an overnight stay for a second night in Fairbanks.
We see a few nice Log homes along the way.

We learn about reindeer farming. (They're Caribu in the wild - Reindeer when farmed)
This contraption is used to catch salmon in the river. We learn how to smoke salmon from a native Alaskan.
We leave the riverboat to visit a simulated native Alaskan village and learn about their homes and traditions.
